Required time gap between mainshock and aftershock for dynamic analysis of structures

چکیده

Despite the various studies carried out to evaluate effects of seismic sequences on structures, matter time gap required be considered between mainshock and its corresponding aftershocks in dynamic analyses has never been focused directly. This subtle but meantime effective subject, influences amount accumulated damage caused by earthquake sequences. In present study, 244 near fault ground motion components from 122 earthquakes were applied a wide variety single degree freedom systems having vibrating period 0.05–7 seconds with linear nonlinear behavior. Furthermore, 2 planar steel moment-resisting frames, 3 12 stories, subjected set 30 components. The purpose this investigation was estimate for structures cease free vibration at end mainshock. main is generate an estimation that function structural system’s parameters strong duration. Excellent correlations obtained rest following parameters: combination natural systems, as well duration consequence, formula proposed which estimates optimized rest-time structure based period, motion. Additionally, results analysis frames validate values achieved formula.
